CareAssured to attend The Care Show, Birmingham, 5-6 November 2008
CAREASSURED EXHIBIT FOCUSES ON WIDE RANGE OF INSURANCE & RISK MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS
CareAssured – part of the Property & Commercial Division of Barbon Insurance Group – is focusing on a wide range of insurance and risk management solutions at The Care Show. The company’s collaboration with major blue chip insurers enables it to deliver comprehensive and competitive cover for the care home sector, including property damage, business interruption, employer’s liability, public and products liability and money cover. In addition, a portfolio of added value products and solutions to address Employment Disputes, Staff Absenteeism and Criminal Records checking is also featured.
The scheme extends to Risk Management, specially designed to help care homes manage risks in an effective way and meet their legal obligations. The service includes a risk helpline run by a team of fully qualified advisors that can help with a variety of issues including compliance with health & safety legislation, guidance on specific hazards and environmental management.
The CareAssured Business Legal policy has been developed in conjunction with niche provider ARAG. The specialist solution has more than two times the usual legal expenses cover with protection for tax, property, compliance and regulation, statutory licence, employees extra, and contract and debt recovery. It also includes employment practice liability – believed not to be available in any other policy for this sector.
Operating in conjunction with Ceridian, one of the largest providers of human resource services, CareAssured’s Absence Management & Employee Assistance programme helps care homes to effectively manage staff absenteeism. It provides access to a best practice policy and allows staff and managers to call a dedicated telephone line to report absence.
In addition, the Employee Assistance service offers unlimited advice and counselling helplines for employees and immediate family members, support for employees on a wide range of issues including law, caring for elders and children, finance and debt, work/life balance and health.
CareAssured also offers Criminal Records Bureau checking (CBS) designed to protect clients and employees by helping care homes ensure the right people are employed in the right roles.

What a fantastic event and we hope you found it useful too! Over 2500 delegates walked through the doors on what turned out to be a couple of warm sunny days by the coast.
The event gave us the opportunity to promote a number of key features of the CareAssured Insurance and Risk Management scheme including Risk Management with a difference, Legal Expenses and Absence Management.
Our stand, which was next to the Seminar & Kitchen areas attracted a lot of interest with over 400 people visiting it, taking the opportunity to discuss their requirements, whilst entering our free prize draw and drinking champagne.
The lucky winner of the prize draw, of a 3 day trip to La Champaign in France, was Mrs Jan Bond of Ivybank Residential Care Home in Dover. Congratulations, Jan we hope you and your guest enjoy it.
It was clear from the feedback from the press and visitors to the stand, that we have an innovative product to offer, which gets right to the heart of the insurance needs of the Care sector.
CareAssured Launch, NEC - Birmingham, 24th November 2007
We were proud to launch CareAssured with a flurry of interest at 11am Wednesday 24th October during The Care Show at the NEC Birmingham.
Doug Phelan, Business Development Manager (CareAssured) and Mike Smith, Head of Trading - East Region (Norwich Union) cut the ribbon to officially launch, along with a number of key affiliates (ARAG, Ceridian, Advantage Healthcare & NU) who then assisted with handing out glasses of champagne to delegates to celebrate!
Doug was supported by Heather Rookard, Lisa Hardiman and Andrew Chatel from CareAssured along with the Marketing team who spoke to a number of senior managers from Care homes.
